HCX FIXTURE NUT RUNNER Robust design
Handheld HCX Fixture Nut Runner tools from AMT are designed for hard industrial use. The handle is made of polyamide with a high fiber-glass portion, the motor encasing is made of robust polyurethane. The motor and drive units are designed for a long lifespan. This robust construction leads to an extension of the lifespan and thereby minimizes maintenance costs.
HCX Fixture Nut Runner Ergonomic design
A lot of value was placed on an ergonomic design during the development of the HCX series:
- Ergonomic handle
- Switching ring for right/left operation
- Status display with display of the selected rotation direction through LEDs
- Ergonomically located start button
- Single-piece, ergonomically shaped angle head (4 x 90° flexible)
- Low weight through light construction
Drive
Short cycle times require the use of powerful drives. That is why we only use maintenance-free EC motors with high dynamics in our handheld tools.
HCX Fixture Nut Runner Torque sensor
By default, all handheld tools are equipped with reaction torque sensors, which are installed between the drive and output. The torque can be reliably determined with consistent precision using strain gauges in full bridge circuit. Through the angle detection, it is also examined to see if the clamp load was accomplished during the assembly process. All AMT controls additionally monitor the power intake of the tool equivalent to the torque as a redundant control variable. Thus, all requirements that are placed in the assembly of safety-relevant or quality-critical assemblies are fulfilled.
HCX Fixture Nut Runner Integrated data chip
Of course, the tools also have an integrated data chip where all relevant tool data is saved by the factory. This data is automatically imported by the AMT controls as soon as a new tool is connected to a controller. Therefore, laborious parameterization is a thing of the past. The data chip also saves the number of executed fastening cycles. This allows for the development and planning for preventive maintenance.
HCX Fixture Nut Runner Integrated maintenance management
Even the most reliable of tools are subject to natural wear over time. To make sure that this wear does not lead to a sudden failure of the tool and therefore a stoppage on an assembly line, AMT tools automatically notify the user when preventive maintenance is required. An integrated screw cycle counter with a load-dependent assessment makes sure that required maintenance is reported in time before the tool fails. This increases the availability of the tool with a simultaneous reduction of the maintenance expenses through a wear-dependent replacement of parts.

HCX Fixture Nut Runner Integrated ultrasonic transmitter
By using an ultrasonic triangulation system, the fastening data can be assigned to the individual fasteners without any errors. The definition of the work sequences, automatic selection of screw parameters and a quality statement after processing the complete content result in advanced process security.
AMT battery-powered tools for industrial fastening applications combine all of the previously known advantages of AMT. High flexibility, excellent ergonomics, consistent quality, high-performance indicators, and secure data transfer. Up to 10 battery-powered tools can be operated through one control SMX-BT.
